### When were the guidelines issued?

Bangladesh's Ministry of Commerce issued the Digital Commerce Operational Guidelines on 4 July 2021, days after a Bangladesh Bank notice on settling e-commerce payments; a draft had been reported in late June. A shop presents, as relevant, its trade licence, VAT registration number and TIN, or a business identification number, and every digital commerce business has a compliance officer who coordinates with the Department of Consumer Rights.

### What deadlines run from payment to delivery?

The guidelines set deadlines in two steps: a product goes to the delivery agent within a fixed number of hours of full payment, then reaches the buyer within a fixed number of days, a shorter period inside the same city or village than to another one. If a delivery paid in advance is late, a full refund is due through the medium the buyer used. Full advance payment is limited to goods that are ready to ship.
