What a row gives is the place our catalogue lists a Belgian carrier under. The address itself is taken from the carrier’s pool, so its town is not something we promise, and a lookup may name another. After it is issued, see where What Is My IP or the IP checker puts it, and file the result next to the language you meant to test.
.brussels and .vlaanderen went live in 2014, and .brussels opened to everyone on 20 January 2015; .gent, the name for Ghent, was introduced in 2014 as well. A crawl of Belgian sites keyed on .be alone will miss all three. From a Belgian address you can run queries as a searcher in Belgium might and note which results sit on a regional name, which on .be and which on a generic ending. Repeat the list over months and you see whether the regional endings gain ground in those results or stay a niche.
Belgium has three official languages, and a Belgian site may offer two or all three. It may choose among them by the browser's language, by a choice saved in a cookie or by where it places the visitor. Test it from a Belgian address with each language set in the browser in turn, and you learn which of those signals the site actually obeys.
A campaign for Belgium may run Dutch and French creative side by side. Checking the placements from a Belgian address shows whether both versions run and whether each landing page opens in the language of its ad. A Flemish ad that lands on a French page is the kind of fault that only shows from inside the country.
Banking, health and government targets in Belgium are on the list we review before giving access. If yours is one of them, write to us before ordering; the acceptable use policy names each category.
DNS Belgium is the non-profit set up on 17 June 1999 to manage .be, founded by the internet providers' association, the technology federation Fabrimetal and a telecom users' group. In 2012 it was awarded .brussels and .vlaanderen as well, and both launched in the summer of 2014. DNS Belgium signed the ICANN contracts for both on 7 February 2014, and ICANN announced their delegation on 18 June that year. Three extensions, one national and two regional, therefore sit with a single Belgian operator.
.gent was introduced in 2014 as a geographic top-level domain for Ghent, Gand in French, and it is run by the Dot Gent Registry rather than by DNS Belgium. Its intended users are Ghent's residents. A city ending tells a reader which place a business wants to be associated with. It says nothing about where that business's visitors are; that is a property of each visitor's own address, which is what a Belgian IP lets you supply.
Article 4 of the Belgian Constitution divides the country into four linguistic areas: Dutch-speaking, French-speaking, German-speaking and bilingual Brussels-Capital. The regional endings follow those lines, .vlaanderen for Flanders and .brussels for the capital region. A lookup on a Belgian address reports BE and may add a town; a language area is not among its fields, so the language you test is set in the browser.

The country and the carrier are fixed when you order, so the code carries neither. Put in the host, port, username and password that come with the address, send one request, and check that the response reports the country you ordered.
What people ask us about Belgian addresses and Belgium's domain endings, answered from the catalogue and the sources above.
ProxyJam lists these carriers for Belgium, spelled as the catalogue spells them: Lumina Broadband, Zodoms International.
No: .brussels has Brussels as its intended use, and its launch gave priority first to brand holders, then to local governments and organisations, then to companies, before open registration began on 20 January 2015. A .brussels name tells you the owner chose a Brussels identity, not that its visitors are in Brussels.
DNS Belgium runs .be, .brussels and .vlaanderen; .gent, introduced in 2014 for Ghent, belongs to the Dot Gent Registry. The holder of any of those names is in that registry's records, which are separate from the record a lookup returns for a visitor's IP.
Article 4 of Belgium's constitution sets four language areas: the Dutch-speaking area, the French-speaking area, the German-speaking area and the bilingual Brussels-Capital area. Belgium's three official languages are Dutch, French and German, and the regional endings .vlaanderen and .brussels follow the first and the last of those areas.
No: a .vlaanderen site need not be Flemish. The ending was created for Flanders: the Flemish government appointed DNS Belgium to manage it, as the Brussels government did for .brussels. Like a city ending, and like .brussels with its own phased launch, it tells you which identity the owner chose for the name, not where its readers connect from or which language every page is in.
Not necessarily. ProxyJam lists the network that announces the address; the registry record can name another holder, so check both with a lookup. IP Checker
No. A ProxyJam ISP proxy in Belgium is chosen by carrier, not town; the address comes from that carrier's pool, so look up where it surfaces once issued. What Is My IP
No. A ProxyJam IP in Belgium stays the same from the day you order to the end of the paid period.
ProxyJam has no free trial; a first order can be refunded within 24 hours, the window for testing the address on your own targets. Refund Policy
