Where a row puts a South Korean carrier is where our catalogue files it, nothing more. You pick the carrier, the address is assigned from its pool, and a geolocation database may set it in another city or province, so the city is not part of the promise. Look it up after delivery with What Is My IP or the IP checker and keep what it reports.

How do Korean pages count age today?

Which age do Korean forms ask for?

A Korean sign-up or application form may ask for an age, a birth year or a full date of birth. Since June 2023 official documents state international age, man nai, which starts at zero and changes on the birthday. Test your own Korean form from an address in South Korea and confirm which count it asks for, whether the label says so, and that the stored value matches the date of birth it was derived from.

How do pages from before and after the change count age?

Korean pages written before 28 June 2023 may give an age in the traditional count, one at birth and one more each New Year, while later pages may use international age. Capture pages from a Korean address with their dates, and when you extract an age, keep the original wording beside it, so that a person described as a different age in two years is not read as a data error.

Which age count does a Korean page range use?

Which count does an age range on a Korean landing page use? If the page writes 만 before the age, it is international age; if it gives birth years instead, it works like year age. Read the range as the page states it, through an address on a South Korean carrier's network, and turn it into a birth-date rule before you compare two campaigns. For the same person, a range in man nai and one in the traditional count can differ by more than a year.

Which count does an age calculator use?

Korean pages that calculate age may rank for 만 나이 and for 연 나이 alike, and a calculator that does not say which count it uses gives an answer the reader cannot check. Search both terms from one South Korean address, open the calculators that rank, and note the count each one actually computes; a page that computes one count under the other's name belongs in your audit.

Do Korean regulated sectors go through us first?

By our acceptable use policy's definition, South Korean targets in financial services, healthcare or government systems are regulated ones, and we verify each such use before it starts. Ask before ordering.

Three ways Korea has counted age

What is Korean age?

In the traditional count a person is one at birth and a year older every New Year, whatever the birthday. Colloquial ages use native Korean numerals with sal, and other contexts use Sino-Korean numerals with se, so the same count can be written two ways on one page.

What is year age in Korea?

Year age, yeon nai, is the difference between the birth year and the current year. It sits between the other two counts and has also been used by some South Korean laws, so a rule written in year age treats everyone born in the same year as the same age for the whole year. Under it, a child born in December is a year old on 1 January.

When did Korea adopt international age?

On 8 December 2022 the National Assembly passed a bill against using traditional ages on official documents, and the change took effect on 28 June 2023. International age, man nai, counts from zero and rises on each birthday. Some purposes keep the older rules, which go by birth year: among them the year children start elementary school and mandatory military service.

Frequently asked questions

Buyers' questions about a South Korean address and the country's age counts, answered from the record of the 2023 change and our catalogue.

Which carriers do you list in South Korea?

Today the catalogue has one carrier for South Korea, Lumina Broadband. The entry takes its name from the network announcing the address; query the IP and the identical name appears. Do not read it as telling you which company handles local lines or provides your own connection.

What does man nai mean on a Korean page?

Man nai on a Korean page means international age. Man means full or actual: the count starts at zero at birth and goes up by one on each birthday. It is the count the law now uses for official documents.

When did South Korea change how it counts age?

South Korea made international age the standard for official documents on 28 June 2023, after the National Assembly passed the bill on 8 December 2022. Documents issued since then state international age.

Does anything in South Korea still go by birth year?

Yes, South Korea still uses birth year for some purposes. Year age, the current year minus the birth year, is kept for some purposes, among them the year children enter elementary school and mandatory military service. Pages written before June 2023 may also use the traditional count, so check the date of what you capture.

How should a form store a Korean user's age?

A form for Korean users should store the date of birth, or the birth year if that is all you ask for, and compute an age when you need one. A stored age goes stale on the next birthday, and a stored count of an unknown kind cannot be converted reliably. Label the field with the count you mean.

Is the carrier's name the company that owns the address?

Not necessarily. ProxyJam lists the network that announces the address; the registry record can name another holder, so check both with a lookup. IP Checker

Can I choose the town?

No. A ProxyJam ISP proxy in South Korea is chosen by carrier, not town; the address comes from that carrier's pool, so look up where it surfaces once issued. What Is My IP

Does the IP change during the period?

No. A ProxyJam IP in South Korea stays the same from the day you order to the end of the paid period.

Can I try it before committing?

ProxyJam has no free trial; a first order can be refunded within 24 hours, the window for testing the address on your own targets. Refund Policy

Is using proxies in South Korea legal?

We give no legal advice; check the rules that apply to your work. Some targets are reviewed before we enable work with them, as the acceptable use policy sets out. Acceptable Use Policy
