A Sri Lankan carrier appears under the place our catalogue files it, and that is all the row asserts. Your choice is the carrier, which then issues the address; a geolocation database may file it under a town other than the row’s, so a town is never guaranteed. Run What Is My IP through the address, or put it in the IP checker, once it is issued.
The Colombo auction now runs on Tuesday and Wednesday, and the Tea Exporters Association's site lists a weekly tea market report. Capture the report pages and any broker summaries from a Sri Lankan address on each sale day and file them under the sale they describe. A fixed address keeps a long series consistent, and the dates show when a report was published against when the sale was held. If a report is revised after it first appears, a second capture under the same sale shows what changed.
An auction is identified by a number and a year, as in Sale No. 12 of 2020. Keying a price archive on that pair, rather than on the date you happened to capture a page, keeps a sale's reports together when they are published over several days. Store the sale number, the auction days and the capture date as separate fields, and you can rebuild the run of sales in order.
When a tea brand's ad says its leaf was bought at the Colombo auction, the sale reports are the test. Note the claim, its date and the sale number current that week, from a capture made through a Sri Lankan carrier's network, and the claim can later be read against the report of that sale rather than a later one. A capture with no sale number beside it says little once the next auction has run.
If you publish a summary of the Colombo sales, test it where its readers search. Look up the sale it covers, by the auction's name and by its sale number, from a Sri Lankan address in the days after the sale, and note the position your summary takes and the page directly above it. Keyed by sale number, the run of results shows whether your summary is found while the sale is still news, and which page you would have to beat.
Should your Sri Lankan work reach into financial services, healthcare or government systems, the regulated sectors named by our acceptable use policy, contact us ahead of the order so we can verify it.
The first tea auction in Colombo was held on 30 July 1883 in the office of Somerville & Co. on Queen Street. It was a modest start: a single lot sold and the rest went unsold. The lot that sold was un-assorted tea from Kabaragala. Regular auctions, run by brokers, followed from 1885.
In 1894 the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce set up the Colombo Tea Traders' Association to create rules for the auction. Sales were first held on one day a week in the Chamber's building on Chatham Street; today they run on Tuesday and Wednesday, in several rooms at once. Before each sale, buyers assess the lots catalogued for it in the preceding days.
The pandemic ended the outcry system. Sale No. 12 of 2020, set for 24 and 25 March, was held electronically from 4 to 8 April 2020 on a platform the traders' association arranged with the Colombo Brokers' Association. Sellers and brokers now catalogue teas electronically, and buyers bid on screens. A software company provided the platform, with the brokers supporting the change.

The country and the carrier are fixed when you order, so the code carries neither. Put in the host, port, username and password that come with the address, send one request, and check that the response reports the country you ordered.
Things buyers ask about a Sri Lankan address and the Colombo tea sales, answered from the auction's own record and our catalogue.
One carrier sits on file for Sri Lanka, and it is Lumina Broadband. We name the announcing network because that is what outside lookups on the IP display. As a result the entry is a filing convention; it is silent on who runs the island's local lines or what you connect through.
The Colombo tea auction runs on Tuesday and Wednesday. It was first held on one day a week; it now runs electronically on both days, in several auction rooms at the same time.
A Colombo tea sale is identified by a sale number and a year, as in Sale No. 12 of 2020. Use the pair as the key for prices and reports, and keep the auction dates beside it. A capture date alone cannot tie a late report to its sale.
The Colombo auction has not always been electronic. It used the outcry system until 2020; the first electronic sale ran from 4 to 8 April 2020. That was Sale No. 12 of 2020, first set for 24 and 25 March and moved onto the new system.
A tea price archive should record the auction days of the sale the price belongs to, kept apart from the date your capture was taken. Reports can appear later than the sale, and the sale number links the two.
Not necessarily. ProxyJam lists the network that announces the address; the registry record can name another holder, so check both with a lookup. IP Checker
No. A ProxyJam ISP proxy in Sri Lanka is chosen by carrier, not town; the address comes from that carrier's pool, so look up where it surfaces once issued. What Is My IP
No. A ProxyJam IP in Sri Lanka stays the same from the day you order to the end of the paid period.
ProxyJam has no free trial; a first order can be refunded within 24 hours, the window for testing the address on your own targets. Refund Policy
