Our catalogue files every Swiss carrier under a place, and the table repeats that filing without adding to it. The address comes from the carrier’s pool; a geolocation service may set it in another town, and we promise none. Check yours after issue with What Is My IP through the proxy or the IP checker, which print the country, the town and the network together.
A foreign shop registered under the Swiss mail-order rules owes Swiss VAT on everything it sends to Swiss buyers, and its basket may add the tax before payment. A shop below the threshold may leave the tax to be settled at import instead. Going through the basket from a Swiss address shows which of the two a Swiss customer meets, and whether the total on the last screen already includes the tax. A retailer can repeat the pass on its own Swiss checkout after every change to tax or shipping settings.
An ad that promises Swiss customers no extra charges at the door is making a claim about tax and customs handling. Seen from a Swiss address, the campaign and its landing page can be set against what the checkout actually shows, so a brand confirms that its Swiss creative and its Swiss basket say the same thing. A mismatch found this way may cost less than one a customer finds at the door.
From 1 January 2025 a platform operator whose deliveries into Switzerland pass the turnover threshold can be liable for the Swiss VAT on them, in place of each seller. A merchant listed on a foreign marketplace can open its own listings from a Swiss address and see how the platform presents tax and delivery to a Swiss buyer, which may differ from the merchant's own shop.
Targets in financial services, healthcare and government systems, the regulated sectors in our acceptable use policy, are opened after a check. That covers Swiss banks, health insurers and cantonal or federal portals; ask us before you order.
Switzerland levies VAT on imported goods only when the tax due passes a small amount, so a low-value parcel from abroad could arrive untaxed. The mail-order rules, in force since 1 January 2019, close that gap: a foreign seller whose turnover from such small consignments reaches the threshold has its deliveries treated as domestic supplies. Once it is registered, every shipment it sends to Switzerland is subject to domestic tax, the small ones and the larger ones alike.
A foreign mail-order company has to appoint a tax representative resident or domiciled in Switzerland, and it registers with the Federal Tax Administration on its own initiative. The administration publishes a list of the companies entered in the VAT register as mail-order companies, and customs declarants can receive the same list as a data file. A buyer who wants to know whether a shop is registered can look it up there.
A registered seller owes Swiss VAT on the sale and must make sure the buyer is not charged import tax on top. That depends on the seller's VAT number and registration appearing on the parcel label and on the invoice. When those details are missing, the Federal Tax Administration warns, the buyer can end up paying import tax to the customs declarant as well. Platform operators came under the rules on 1 January 2025.

The country and the carrier are fixed when you order, so the code carries neither. Put in the host, port, username and password that come with the address, send one request, and check that the response reports the country you ordered.
Questions about Swiss addresses and buying from abroad into Switzerland, answered from the federal tax and customs guidance and our catalogue.
ProxyJam lists these carriers for Switzerland, spelled as the catalogue spells them: Lietpark Communications, Lumina Broadband.
A foreign shop adds Swiss VAT before you pay because it may be registered under Switzerland's mail-order rules. A registered seller owes Swiss VAT on its deliveries to Swiss buyers, so the tax can appear in the basket rather than at the door.
A Swiss buyer should not be charged VAT twice on one parcel. The seller's VAT number and registration have to appear on the label and the invoice; when they are missing, the customs declarant may charge import tax as well. The Federal Tax Administration describes that risk on its mail-order page.
The list of registered Swiss mail-order companies is on the Federal Tax Administration's website. It lists the companies entered in the VAT register as mail-order companies, and customs declarants can obtain the same list in XML. Checking a seller there before ordering tells a Swiss buyer which kind of checkout to expect.
Marketplaces can fall under the Swiss rules too: since 1 January 2025 a platform operator whose deliveries into Switzerland reach the turnover threshold becomes liable for the tax on them. A seller on such a platform may therefore find the platform, not itself, handling Swiss VAT.
Not necessarily. ProxyJam lists the network that announces the address; the registry record can name another holder, so check both with a lookup. IP Checker
No. A ProxyJam ISP proxy in Switzerland is chosen by carrier, not town; the address comes from that carrier's pool, so look up where it surfaces once issued. What Is My IP
No. A ProxyJam IP in Switzerland stays the same from the day you order to the end of the paid period.
ProxyJam has no free trial; a first order can be refunded within 24 hours, the window for testing the address on your own targets. Refund Policy
